A prototype of Micro-mouse from the UC Riverside demonstrated the challenges of developing the artificial intelligent system and control for robots. The type of this robot will require good distance sensors or electronic range finders to calculate and to avoid the obstacles in its moving paths. The maze used for this type of micro-mouse consists of reflection wooden bars mounted on the black platform. The sensors and processing logic must be able to handle all types of unwanted interferences and errors due to the environment light and the reflection bars’ angle. Let’s look at the demonstration video for a great appreciation for the hard works of students in the robotic contest.
